2 years agoWhat an amazing experience. Backyard has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants anywhere across the country. World class owner and waitstaff, not to mention the food is phenomenal. It's worth traveling to Grand Rapids just for the Soltani! Thank you for your kindness and amazing food.

2 years agoWe had the lentil soup, viziri plate with torshi and Baklava. I suggest you not order the meats without the torshi. Excellent food, the owner came to our table to tell us how to mix a eat with the torshi. It was a wonderful experience.

2 years agoBeautiful indoor atmosphere. Food was awesome! The owner is an incredible man, cooking family persian recipes. Wine & some of the best kabobs you’ll have! A must try in Grand Rapids!!

2 years agoWas in the area on business and a few coworkers and I enjoyed a wonderful meal!! We started off with Tahdig and then I had Joojeh Kabob and both were so good!! The owners were so nice and explained various items on the menu. I felt like I was at a friend's house for dinner. A relaxing atmosphere with amazing food to enjoy. I will definitely be back when in town. Thanks for a great evening!!

Edited 2 years agoFirst time here. I was so excited to try this restaurant, and I was never disappointed! It is worth the visit and the experience! Here's why : Vibes: The place has an amazing, cozy romantic vibes different than all other restaurants that you would try in GR. Really loved it! Food: IT IS ONE OF THE BEST DELICIOUS PERSIAN DISHES I'VE EVER TRIED IN MY LIFE!! If this is you're first time trying Persian food, you will be addicted! So yummy that makes me YELP ! And the amount of food is just right. Prices: It is a good fair amount, we were 2 people and it was about $70. Good price for the quantity and the quality. Service: Everyone here is so friendly and caring, you walk in a customer, you leave a family member! The waitress Dina was so nice and super helpful. The owner Korosh (I hope I got the name right) was so hospitable and friendly. Made sure we had a great experience, he even offered us a complimentary Persian Tea. Overall: I will definitely come here again, and I recommend this place 100% ! Update : Ok, I came here 5 months ago and I loved the place so much! And the food was so delicious, the owner is super nice and the service was great! I decided to drive again from Kalamazoo with my wife to have a nice experience with delicious food again. Sadly, I was really disappointed with a couple of things in this visit. Food : It was still delicious and satisfying, no complaining about that. Restaurant vibes : It's really nice, cozy, and romantic, still great, and I like it. Prices : The prices have increased sadly, to have a fulfilling platte of delicious entree per person you have to pay at least $30. And they some of the good dishes out of the menu. Service : That was the biggest downside in our visit! The waiter who was serving us (Calvin), it felt like he was new in his job. We were really understanding about that, as he forgot to bring many things that we asked to bring multiple times like spoons, bread, dipping etc. After we paid the bill and we were leaving the restaurant, I didn't tip the waiter as his service was really bad. The moment we left and he was grabbing our receipt, he saw that there was no tip and said loudly and beig bothered about it : "Huh! No tip!" That was really a rude and unprofessional thing to say, thinking we wouldn't be able to hear that! We don't accept this kind of service, and he doesn't really deserve a tip for giving bad service! And because of this behavior, I don't think I would consider coming here again.

3 years agoHighly recommend. The food was full of flavour and the restaurant ambiance was an added bonus. The owner was very pleasant along with the wait staff. Very reasonable prices, you’ll certainly enjoy this meal!

3 years agoAbsolutely by far the most amazing Persian food you'll ever try. The bold flavors, massive portions and as atmosphere is worthy of praise. Very generous portions and the very unique and traditional flavors. Must try. Very family friendly. Highly recommend

3 years agoFABULOUS NEW GEM! Loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant. The food was incredible … SO YUMMY 🤤 and the customer service is one of the BEST we have ever encountered. We ordered the Kababs, Lentil soup and the Lamb. Everything was SOOOOO fantastic! They interior decor is lovely. The owner is Persian and has owned lots of restaurants in DC and we are so happy to have him come back to Grand Rapids to open this amazing place. He is also incredibly personable and was so kind to my little kid. Can’t wait to go back. We will be regulars for sure! 😍😋
